App Store screenshot rejection: common reasons and fixes
2026-07-21
Screenshot rejections usually come from these causes:
- Wrong size / alpha channel: Dimensions don't match exactly or the PNG has transparency → submit an exact-size, 24-bit alpha-free PNG.
- Non-app content: The image doesn't show the actual app (marketing-only art) → include at least one real screen.
- Placeholder / beta content: "Lorem ipsum", dev text, an error screen → show the finished state.
- Price/promo claims: phrases like "50% off", "#1" → remove them from the image.
- Misleading: don't show a feature the app doesn't have.
- Low quality: blurry, distorted, upscaled → crisp, full resolution.
Because Vitrinshot output is exact store size and alpha-free RGB, it prevents size/transparency rejections up front.
